Why The ZBuffer.com?

Some of the reasons why it makes sense to spend some of your marketing budget at The ZBuffer.

#1 Site for Managed DirectX development

Founded in 2004 the oldest and the ONLY site that covers everything to do with Managed DirectX. We appear on the first page on Google, Yahoo and MSN for "Managed DirectX" searches and over 50% of our traffic comes directly from relevant search engine hits.

100,000 unique visitors in 19 months, 50,000 page views per month (April 06)

Check the stats. These are real page views too! We don't count the hits to our RSS feeds that aggregators are hitting every 30 minutes, we don't count search engine bot visits and we aggressively filter out referrer spam. This is 50,000 pages viewed by around 13,000 unique real people per month.

Quality referring sites

The Zman has a regular column on MSDN's Coding4Fun, is active in forums on MSDN and GameDev.Net and usenet newsgroups and promotes the site as part of the correspondence.

How does it work?

You can see from the web page you are currently viewing that there are 3 ad slots on every page:

• A Full Banner at the top (486x60) or (728x90)
• A Skyscraper on the right hand side (120x600) or (160x600)
• A Vertical Banner on the left hand side below the menu (120x240)

Your ad will appear on all pages of The ZBuffer. The Full Banner and SkyScraper are always 'above the fold'. The Vertical Banner may only be partially visible depending on menu length and browser size. However most entry pages on the ZBuffer are long enough to require scrolling so this is not a major issue. None the less, this ad is cheaper than the others.

All slots are available on a monthly basis.

We support all image formats and shockwave/flash. Images subject to approval.

We prefer to host the image for better performance, but are happy if you would rather host it yourself for view counting.

Email us at zman@thezbuffer.com to check availability. Once we have agreed on a time period we will let you know the cost. We currently only accept payment via PayPal, but if you would rather try something else then let us know - we are flexible. Once we have received the payment and the graphics your ad will be displayed. How much more simple can it be?

What's the downside?

Not much, but there are a few things that we don't currently offer that you might find on bigger sites:

• No click tracking - however if you give us a custom URL (e.g. http://www.mysite.com?refer=zbuffer) then you can track the clicks yourself.
• No pay-per-click - our model is payment on a monthly basis based on approximately 50,000 page views. If for some reason our page views drops abnormally low we will contact the advertisers to ensure their satisfaction. If we have a good month then you benefit too as our rates are fixed at the time of payment.
• No page-view-tracking per ad - our statistics show you the number of page views and unique visitors per year/month/day. If you require accurate page view count then you may host the image on your own web site.
• No per-page targeting - i.e. we don't offer ads just for the 'Engines' URL
