Download the August SDK from MSDN. Nothing major in the readme about the managed side of things other than some new functions to match the changed in the native SDK. I'm installing right now and will let you all know what else I have found.

Jeff Stewart is chronicling the development of his game Vyde. I'm pretty sure it will be in C#, though he appears to be unsure on that at the moment.

Update 7/19: Less than a week to go! I will be at the reception on Monday night so if you want to stand in a corner and taunt the C++ guys about how we have garbage collectors and strong types drop me an email and I will let you know my cell phone#

After much thought I have decided that I am going to attend Meltdown. Its always a tough call when you have to pay your own way, but at least this one is local for me so I don't have to worry about air fares and hotels.

As was the case at GDC this year I don't expect to hear a lot about Managed DirectX, but I have heard from one MDX developer who will be there so that's already an improvement over GDC where I spoke to no one. Let me know if you will be there, I know David will be there and maybe Tom so maybe we can persuade them to clue us in on the future of MDX.

Sign up is cheaper before July 6th so hurry on down to the registration page.

Rollcall 7/19/05:
Jason will be there.
Chris is going though he's sold his soul and his comic books to do it
Todd aka zxeltor too.
Someone called StephenY who emailed me but doesn't have a blog

I think that makes 7 Managed DirectX developers in one place - this has to be some kind of world record ;-)

I know I'm pretty good at keeping up with regular updates, but quitting a job is pretty time consuming and then I decided to pay a surprise visit to my family for a while which is why things have been quiet. I'm taking things fairly easy for the rest of this month and then will start my new 'job' in August.

I'm about to upload some new items to cover the next few weeks of my downtime.

I will be speaking at Portland Code Camp this Saturday, then attending Meltdown next week.

In other news, there may be some down time on TheZBuffer over the next couple of weeks as the ISP does some upgrades. Don't worry it won't be for very long.
